Woodpeckers opens its doors at 7.30am offering children a selection of cereals, toast with various toppings, and drinks right up until 8.10am. Each child is given their own toothbrush and case along with toothpaste allowing them to join in with our “Healthy Teeth” policy
In the afternoon, the activities are interrupted briefly for the children to re-fuel with a healthy snack and with fresh water freely available throughout the session its more series of pit-stops than a sit-down meal. Play and activities continue throughout the afternoon with the last pick-up being at 5.45pm.
There is always a selection of games, books, toys, arts and craft activities to keep the children occupied. Weather permitting, Woodpeckers take the children outside blow out the cobwebs before starting the school day.
Once the final bell rings, a larger selection of games, toys, arts and crafts plus planned activities are available and the opportunity to play outside and use up some of that limitless energy they have.
As the clock nears the time for school to start the Infant school children are taken directly to their classroom, whilst the Juniors are escorted for the short journey across the playground to start their day.
Once school ends Woodpeckers starts again in the infant school hall, with the children of the Juniors meeting at a designated area within the school before being escorted over to the club.
